Why Lodhi Garden Delhi is a Must-Visit for Nature Lovers

Delhi is a hectic city and sometimes you need a green escape or a strong cup of coffee. If you are looking for an upscale lunch, posh coffee or even an artisan cake after exploring the Lodhi gardens, then the Khan Market has you covered. The Lodhi gardens is located just between the incredible Safdarjung Tomb and the Khan Market. Just make sure you don't leave any rubbish as the park was pristine when we visited! The gardens are also nearby to Khan Market (see later on) which has plenty of upmarket food options. Google states you can walk from one end of the park to the other in 20 minutes but this is nowhere near enough time to explore the park properly.

  • But before you plan your visit, it’s important to know about the entry requirements and ticket details.
  • Delhi has many beautifulgardens all around mostly built during Mughal period or other dynasties.
  • An Eight Pier Bridge close to Sikander’s tomb, one of the last Delhi constructions resides here as well.
  • Lodhi Gardens is one of the best places in Delhi to learn about history.

Balancing preservation with the garden’s vibrant social life requires ongoing negotiation, careful planning, and community engagement to ensure both thrive together. Yet, these historic structures are set within a dynamic public park, used daily by a diverse community for recreation and leisure. Rather than seeing nature and culture as separate, this approach recognizes landscapes as living records of social, historical, and ecological processes. This perspective, based on the ICOMOS definition, helps us understand the garden not in isolated parts but as a rich, living tapestry.
